October 4-5, Staples Center, Los Angeles
After thirteen years, Elton John and his band return to Los Angeles, CA Saturday, October 4th at
STAPLES Center as part of the “All the Hits” tour. The 10-city tour will feature iconic hits and classic
album tracks from throughout his incredible five-decade career, including a selection of songs from his
highly acclaimed remastered album, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Ferrari 60th Anniversary Celebration
October 10-12, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills One of the world’s greatest car shows
of 2014 is set to roll into town on Oct. 12 when Ferrari celebrates 60 years of being in the U.S. with a prestigious
exhibition of 60 unique Ferraris from around the world on Rodeo Drive. Vehicles are anticipated at the Ferrari Beverly
Hills event in Beverly Hills include Tom Selleck’s Ferrari from Magnum P.I. and Don Johnson’s car from Miami Vice.
About one thousand members of the Ferrari Club of America from different branches nationwide will be invited to join
the this Ferrari event in Beverly Hills, with the top cars joining in a Sunday ride that will conclude on Rodeo Drive.
There, the cars will be displayed, along with the hundreds of other vehicles, which will have designated “Ferrari Parking”
along adjacent streets.
Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic
October 11, Will Rogers State Historic Park, Pacific Palisades
Put on your wide-brimmed hats and Sunday best for this annual polo match co-hosted by Argentine polo star Nacho
Figueras and his wife Delfina Blaquier as well as President of Veuve Clicquot USA, Vanessa Kay. Sip on some
bubbly alongside celebs—stars Ashley Greene, Alessandra Ambrosio, Rebecca Romijn, Jerry O'Connell, Ali Larter,
Hayes MacArthur, Ellen Pompeo, Lauren Conrad, Minnie Driver, Rose McGowan and Selma Blair are known to attend.
The champagne bars and food trucks will open at 11am. Once you've fueled up, head to the field to cheer on Figueras
as he leads his team, Black Watch, in the 1pm game.
Screamfest Horror Film Festival
October 14 – 23, TCL Chinese Theater, Hollywood Screamfest Horror Film Festival is
the largest and longest running horror film festival in the United States. Paranormal Activity was discovered and premiered
at the festival in 2007. Some of the largest horror online publications have called it the "Sundance of Horror." Screamfest
premieres and showcases new work from American and international independent horror filmmakers. Many of the filmmakers have
garnered distribution and representation as a result of the festival.
Beverly Hills artSHOW
October 18 – 19, Beverly Hills
Held each May and October for forty years, the Beverly Hills artSHOW is one of the most popular art events on the west coast.
The free show features art by 240 exhibitors from around the nation, who showcase their work in painting, sculpture,
watercolor, photography, mixed media, ceramics, jewelry, drawings and printmaking. The Beverly Hills artSHOW takes
places across four linear blocks of historic Beverly Gardens Park in the heart of Beverly Hills. The artSHOW runs
along Santa Monica Boulevard from Rodeo Drive to Rexford Drive.
The Breeders’ Cup World Championships
October 31, Santa Anita Park, Arcadia Since its early beginnings, the Breeders’
Cup has served as a positive step toward not only promoting racing, but uniting the industry itself. Breeders’
Cup has enjoyed widespread support from the industry through annual nomination payments from stallions and one-time
nomination payments for those stallions’ offspring, which fund the Championships as well as providing Breeders’
Cup purses, awards and benefits. The Breeders’ Cup has firmly established itself as the season-ending championship
of Thoroughbred racing. It is now deeply entrenched in international racing lore with a history and tradition of its own.
