An Evening with Kathy Griffin
November 5, GRAMMY Museum, Downtown
Two-time Emmy® and GRAMMY award-winning comedian Kathy Griffin is a towering figure on television, on tour and in publishing. She breaks through the entertainment clutter with her universally recognized brand of pull-no-punches comedy. This year, Kathy made history with her 6th consecutive GRAMMY nomination and first win for Best Comedy Album (Kathy Griffin: Calm Down Gurrl), joining Whoopi Goldberg and Lily Tomlin as the only other female comedians to ever win GRAMMY awards for Best Comedy Album. Please join us as we continue to celebrate the GRAMMY Museum’s first-ever Comedy Month with An Evening with Kathy Griffin, hosted by Vice President of The GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares Scott Goldman.
The Black Keys
November 6, The Forum, Inglewood
After the sleek, commercial sound of El Camino, the Black Keys return to a more soulful groove on the new Turn Blue. Produced again by Danger Mouse (of Broken Bells fame), the blues-y Ohio natives float through some nifty psych on the record. It's mellow, for certain, but lest you think that won't fare well live, there is a fresh spritz of Pink Floyd to the affair.
AFI Festival - 8 Day Film Festival
November 6-13, Venues throughout Hollywood
Each year, the American Film Institute presents eight days of films, lectures and special discussions at venues throughout Hollywood, including Grauman's Chinese Theater, the Chinese 6 and the Egyptian Theatre. Highlights include centerpiece galas and special screenings; as well as a world cinema, short films, breakthrough films and a competition for first- and second-time filmmakers. The fest gives LA residents incredible access to the filmmaking world and its stars.
Los Angeles Auto Show

The Los Angeles Auto Show is one of the most influential automotive events in the industry. Each year, for ten exciting days, the show takes center stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This year we expect nearly 60 debuts of new vehicles. This means you will be one of the first in the world to see these new cars and trucks up close and personal. This is where the world's automakers unveil the future of transportation across all vehicle categories such as luxury, performance, hybrid, electric, hydrogen fuel-cell and many others.
Rodeo Drive Holiday Lighting
November 23, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills
Lining the median of Rodeo Drive between Santa Monica and Wilshire Boulevards will be 16 full size Baccarat chandeliers, brilliantly lit birch trees, 42 iridescent palm trees, and hundreds of vibrant red poinsettias. Picturesque holiday banners of chandeliers will be displayed along the street. A shimmering glow of nearly 150,000 lights will brighten Rodeo Drive this holiday season, during the annual Beverly Hills Holiday Lighting Ceremony. The festivities begin at 6:00PM and will feature the seasonal spectacular lighting of the holiday lights, a fireworks show and a confetti “snow” shower, heralding the arrival of the 2014 Holidays.
